LOCATION
Buxton Raceway is around 3 miles from Buxton Town Centre in Derbyshire, and is easily found from all parts of the country. See our Google Maps/Earth view below:

 

From Leek:
Follow the A53 from Leek Town Centre, turn right at 'Dalehead Road' which is signposted on racedays. w3w:

From Buxton and the A6:
If you are coming from Stockport or Derby areas on the A6 then when in Buxton town centre follow signs for 'Leek A53', you will go through a set of traffic lights and then up a long hill which bears to the left, at the top turn left into 'Dalehead Road' signposted on racedays. w3w

The track is about 1 mile on the left, on Dalehead Road, we now have a postcode for sat nav use: SK17 0RR

The spectator car park is free, we have trackside parking of which a limited number of spaces are available, please arrive early to take advantage of this - extra charge applies [see admission prices]

Within easy access from the track spectator areas, there is a bar, a track shop and hot food outlets.

This is useful if you like to weatherwatch, there are Webcams set up at the old Cat and Fiddle Public House on the A537 Macclesfield to Buxton Road, and at Flash Bar Stores [at junction with Travellers Inn] on the A53 Leek to Buxton Road, approx 2 miles from the track.

Do I need tickets, or can I just turn up?
You can turn up on the day, and when available we sell advanced tickets.

What are the admission prices?
The admission prices are listed with each of the dates on the main page, each event has different prices depending on if its a Domestic Meeting, a Bank Holiday Meeting, a Special Event meeting, or a BriSCA F1 Meeting.

I have bought a ticket online, its not been delivered, why?
Your ticket is sent electronically via our ticketing platform Ticketebo, sent to the email address that you used as part of the purchase process. You can print this at home, or show its on your device to be scanned as the entrance gate.


What time should we arrive?
Best to arrive an hour to 45mins before the start time.


What about Parking?
We have a large FREE Car park at the stadium.

We also have trackside parking which is an extra charge - but PLEASE NOTE that motor homes and large vans MUST PARK AT THE BACK, you may be asked to move by one of our marshals if you are blocking somebody else's view.


How long does Event go on for?
Normally lasts between 3 to 3 ½ hours, from the published start time.


How do I find the track?
Buxton Raceway is very easy to find we are just off the A53 Buxton to Leek Road at Dale Head, there is a large sign at the road junction on race days
Post Code for Sat Nav users is SK17 0RR.


Will the meeting go ahead if it rains?
Yes. Drivers race on a dry or wet circuit. The rain slightly lowers the speeds, but can contribute to more spins and crashes.


Is there seating?
We now have a small seating stand on the back straight area of the track, more seating to be added soon, however you are more than welcome to bring your own seats in, many people sit on the concrete terracing in the summer.


Is there any shelter?
Yes a large covered area on the home straight, for standing under where you can see the racing at all times.


Can I get some refreshments during the day?
Yes. There are Hot & Cold refreshment units and a licensed bar, No food or drink is permitted to be brought into this venue.


Can we bring the dog?
We are happy for you to bring your friendly dog to see the racing at Buxton Raceway, but we ask that you keep it/them on a lead at all times, look after it carefully and clear any mess up, and please don't keep them in a car on a sunny day without adequate ventilation and a drink - our track medics are not Vets!


Is there access for the disabled?
Most of the Raceway grounds are flat and concreted but in some areas are stoney, we have a few disabled spaces on the trackside parking area [first come first served, no reservations] , we have a full disabled toilet facility which is checked and serviced regular during the meetings, the terracing can be accessed with a wheelchair, if you have any questions please ask a member of staff.


Do you have baby changing facilities?
There are baby changing facilities in the disabled toilet.


Is Oval Racing safe?
Yes, some of the action you will see on track is dramatic but drivers that race with us are very safe due to a strict safety regime for their safety equipment and cars, our track staff are among the best in the country and will stop a race to check on a driver if they are in any danger, we have a two ambulance crews on standby just in case as well as full cutting gear and fire safety personnel.


Can I go in the pits to see the cars being fixed?
Yes, however we ask that you respect the fact there are moving vehicles, power tools being used etc, please keep your children close and supervised at all times. Smoking in the pit area is not allowed.
